RECENT ACTIVITIES

We hosted our annual Harvest Home Tea on November 17, 2017, 12:30 PM. Over 80 supporters joined us for a delicious light lunch and tea.  This year's speaker, Walt Puckett, who led UCHA volunteers in building our first tiny house for the Aurora Ave. homeless encampment, gave a really interesting talk and slide show about homelessness in Seattle. If you missed the tea you can view the slide show here.

Our very generous Harvest Home Tea supporters donated a record-setting $10,478! This tea was made possible by Evelyn Crichton and all 11 of our active members.

SAVE THE DATE!

Our 13th annual fundraising dinner is scheduled for March 24, 2018, 5:30PM, at the Seattle Yacht Club. Circle the date on your calendar! Invitations will be sent towards the end of February.

The University Congregational Housing Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 1983 by members of and acting as a mission outreach for University Congregational United Church of Christ. Our purpose is to provide and assist others in providing housing for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and families.

In the years since our formation, we built a 16-unit apartment building in the University District, leased a three-bedroom home for adults living with mental illness, were gifted a 6-unit apartment building on Capital Hill, purchased a six-bedroom home for aging-out foster youth, and most recently, purchased a house in West Seattle for formerly homeless adults in treatment at Transitional Resources, a mental health agency. We have a 30-year track record as a developer, landlord and property manager.

UCHA is an entirely volunteer-run organization, dependent upon public funds, fundraising, grants and donations to finance its projects. With each project the organization identifies local housing needs and then builds a budget and raises funds to enable the members to address those needs through gifts and hands-on actions.

We really need new members to carry on our mission! We also need your help in many other ways.

We are VERY close to retiring our mortgage in 2017 after only three years. Please visit our secure donation page to support this goal!

Join us! We meet once a month on the 2nd Monday at 7PM at University Congregational UCC, 4515 16th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105.

Or, sign up to help with specific needs such as web design, grant writing, graphic design, and more! See our list of needs and let us know how you'd like to get involved.

"Out of a desire to be hands for God's work, our mission is to work in creative ways to prevent homelessness and to provide housing for people in need."
